Welcome

In 1891, First Presbyterian Church was established as a gospel-driven community along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. While our city has experienced significant change over the years, we have remained unwavering in our commitment to seeing people come to know and enjoy God as he reveals himself through his Word. We have a heritage of reaching out to our community in both word and deed following Hurricane Katrina, sending and supporting church planters and missionaries across our country and around the world, bearing one another’s burdens, and treasuring Christ above all things. And that’s the heritage we long to see continue until Christ returns.

If you’re looking for a perfect church with perfect people, you’ve come to the wrong place. First Presbyterian Church is not a museum of the self-righteous, but a hospital for sinners. We are a place where people can bring their brokenness and sin to Christ and to one another, receive grace, and grow in their affections and faithfulness to him. So whether you’re unfamiliar with Christianity or a life-long Presbyterian, new to the coast or have lived here for decades, young or young at heart, we invite you to join us and “taste and see that the Lord is good.” (Psalm 34:8).
